As is tradition for The Screaming Jets, they played to a sold out audience at the Gov on Australia Day eve.
It’s quite a good gig to land, given the public holiday that follows the next day!
I had organised a press shoot with the guys a few days earlier and rocked up to the Gov with all my lighting and umbrellas.
I set everything up in the tiny little backstage room and did a test shot with the support act (Trash City) until I was happy with the lighting- two speedlites off camera, both triggered via pocketwizard FlexTT5’s, one through umbrella, the other bare behind for rim light.
Once I had the lighting I wanted, it was simply a case of having the band rock up, stand on the mark, make small adjustments and fire off the shots.
