It’s hard to shoot a band against a video screen. It’s even harder when there is virtually no stage lighting! Reluctantly I was forced to shoot with flash tonight to make up for the lack of stage light, making this the first time I have shot a band using flash.
I played with a few different techniques involving shutter drag and and managed to get something decent despite the odds.
Forgetting photography for a minute, Tame Impala played a damn impressive set and selling out Rocket Bar on a raining, thursday night in Adelaide is not to be scoffed at! We rocked up at 9pm to a line extending almost two blocks long, and people without tickets were being turned away. Tame Impala were coming off a country wide support slot tour with You Am I and apparently appear to be doing quite well out on their own!
