Lowrider – On Location, May ’10

Earlier this year while shooting the Funkoars and Hilltop Hoods at Clipsal 500, I used the advantage of having an AAA pass to step into Lowriders trailer before their set. I’d previously seen their performance at Summadayze and had said a quick hello back then so it wasn’t a cold entrance entirely.

The boys were about to hit the stage so I quickly rallied them into a impromptu shoot inside their trailer using a mirror as a prop. They liked it. I also shot their show.

Fast forward a few months and I received a phone call from John (keys) saying they had seen both the quick shot and the live set and they liked what I had done and could they book a location shoot, as their new album “Round The World” was set for imminent release.

The shots were to be used on various magazine covers, so care was taken to include space for logos, mastheads etc etc.

All shots were lit with single speedlite, diffused via shoot-through umbrella, triggered from speedlite on camera (set to not fire).
